Weekend projects

The weekend was spent building some Arduino stuff. This button / display box is a part of a larger project that will be revealed on the 22nd of August. I’m pretty happy with the results. It doesn’t really do anything yet, it’s just a “dumb UI” at the moment. Eventually it will be used to trigger events on a Raspberry PI through a serial connection but for now it’s just a glorified countdown timer.

I used an 8-bit shift register (8745AR) to power the display. The Arduino code can be found as a Github Gist.
